Having problems with your Toyota Highlander ?

When 4wd is engaged there is a clicking/knocking sound coming from the front end. there is a tear in the cv boot. the noise is constantly there while in 4wd. after taking it 4wding for the 1st time it isnt handling as well on the road. it is a 2004 SR5 hilux with only 82000km.

The tear in the cv boot has allowed sand, dirt, etc in, and this has resulted in damage to the joint, resulting in the clicking/knocking sounds u now hear. Your only alternative is to replace the cv joint. Unfortunately, u usually don't know the boot is damaged until the joint is damaged by contaminants. Sorry for the bad news!
