Had a similar issue on my Dodge 2500 4x4. When braking the truck felt like it was shaking. I had recently replaced the front pads and rotors after 100k miles it started. I went back and bled the whole brake system back to front and the shake has gone away.
\015\012Bleed your brake system and refill your brake fluid.
Hey ck,

Several things to check out (besides fluid), If something stands out, get back to me so we can fix it.

  • Are the tires showing uneven wear? One side? both? Are the belts sticking out anywhere? Outer tread separating from the belts (ready to drop a 'gator')?
  • \015\012
  • Are all the lug nuts tight?
  • \015\012
  • If they are, loosen the front ones, jack it up and pull the front wheels (one at a time).
  • \015\012
  • Check the disks. Are the smooth (good)? grooved (bad)?
  • \015\012
  • Do the hubs spin freely?
  • \015\012
  • Check the pads. Whats left? Are they getting close to the back plate?
  • \015\012
  • Is the pad wear even on both sides? Big difference? One side not worn? Left side vs Right side?
  • \015\012
  • Have someone press the brake pedal while you watch the calipers. Do both sides react the same? While held, trey to spin them. Do they move? Release the pedal. Do they spin now?
Checking these items should narrow the causes and save you some diagnostic cash. Get back to me with what you find.
