Having problems with your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD Limited; it has recently developed a fault with the auto transmission, it will often drop out of gear to a higher one i.e. 5th to 4th, 4th to 3rd etc, the engine warning does come on but goes out. It will go straight back into the original gear. I have AutoEnginuity scan tool, but as the warning light goes out it does not pick up a fault. This happens at all temperatures and all speeds.
