Having problems with your 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Truck ?

Transmission slipping i have the same problem on my 2006 dodge 2500 mega cab 4x4 diesel . Fluid looks good. been told probably gonna have to re-build or install a re-man. Price on re-man is 3485.00 but comes with 100k or 5 yr warranty. Worth the extra 500 bucks, because re-build is 2900.00 with 6 mo / 12k mile warranty

Well what do you mean by "slipping" a long pause and high revs between shifts or a quick pause and a klunk. If it is the first maybe you are screwed I would check the torque converter though first as they do **** out occasionally. If it is the second version then your problem is the valve body accumulator retainer plate or accumulator piston seals or springs.

Just buy a transco SK 45RFE shift kit ($ 45.00 ) it comes with all the accumulator piston seals an updated and much thicker and stronger accumulator retainer plate AND the kit includes a "spare" set of accumulator springs (1 large & 1 small) in case the spring(s) are broken ,which they do from timt to time. It is only 6 bolts to remove the valve body (carefully) and 7 screws to remove the accumulator plate to access the accumulator pistons and springs. The instructions included in the kit are excellent and very straight forword, you won't need all of the parts but save them they may come in handy some day later. DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT A TORQUE WRENCH IT IS VERY EASY TO STRIP THE BOLTS AND SCREWS, but having said that it is easy to fix and you might as well change the fluid and filters at the same time.

Your way better off with warranty. warranty warranty
