Having problems with your 2003 Volvo S40 ?

I have a 2003 S40 with 108,000 miles on it. I was sitting at a red light the other day and all of a sudden the idleing went way down and the car started to spit and sputter like it was going to stall. I pulled over and sat there for about 5 mins and it did not do it again. but why do you think that happened?

Answers :

There could be many reasons, the idle air valve got stuck or is going bad, maybe a little got caught in the injector or maybe a sparkplug was acting up, i wouldnt worry unless its a problem,i know you dont want to get stuck out on the road, but this kind of problem is going to be hard to find unless it happens more often, i think it may be a idle air valve ,this would just make car stall at a light or run a little rough but you would be able to restart and go, hope this helps.
