Having problems with your 2003 Nissan Pathfinder ?

Sqeualing noise comes from belts on cold days

\015 I have a 2003 nissan pathfinder i had my belts changed july 2008 to stop the squealing sound, but the noise came back. I was told that I need to replace the a/c and the alternatoR tensioner bolts is this true\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-02-2018

It is your Belt Tensioner. You will need to Locate the Belt Tensioner. It has a Large Pulley on a Bracket that Has a Bolt in the Middle and a Smaller Pulley that Goes Under the Belt and Holds Tension on it. You will need to get a Wratchet, Socket, and Cheater Bar. Turn the Bolt On the Top Large Pulley with the Wratchet and Cheater Bar. This will Lower the Smaller Pulley So that you will be Able to Remove the Belt. and Replace the Tensioner Pulley Assembly. You could have bad bearings on one of the pulleys...they sell some stuff called belt dressing in a spray can at the auto parts store that you might try
