Depending on what type of brake set up you have; on a drum brake setup there is a small round plug on the outter edge on the back side of the drum. remove and check using flashlight best if car is in the air and you are able to spin the tire. if it has a disk set up you have to remove the tire and inspect though the caliper if you are trying to inspect the drum parking brake on a disk set up then you must remove the caliper bracket there are two 17mm bolts holding this on right behind the two 14mm bolts remove this and then spin the rotor/drum off to inspect
