Fluctuating hot water gauge for Subaru Baja

\015 While driving at normal speeds in 2003 Subaru Baja, the temperature gauge will move over the "H' setting, then back to normal range, this can happen at an idle too. I've noticed in conjunction with this, the heater blows cold air when it moves to Hot and works normally when the gauge is in the normal range\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-03-2018

I have a 92 subaru Legacy 2.2L a fairly new engine w/ 52k Ive replaced the radiator, t-stat, hoses, water pump. and as I drive my car on my night paper route (its alot of mile apart drive instead of stop and go type) as its gets colder in outside temp. the cooling needle starts to climb towards the red area of Hot. but not touching the red mark then in goes back to the middle, (this type of fluctuation) what could I check for and/or what could be wrong. this has got me baffled. thanks for your help, my email address is [email protected] thanks kerry
Check your coolant level, its may be low causing the fluctuatiion also the loss of heat. if its ok replace your thermostat its not regulating tempature right
