Having problems with your 2001 Hyundai Sonata ?

The check engine light came on i my car so I took it up to checkers. They scanned the car and a code came up reading cam shaft position sensor. I got it replaced but, the code is still coming up and my car is still cutting off and shakes. The spark plugs are new. can anyone help

The problem may be unrelated to one another

Are the plugs NGK factory recomended plugs gapped properly?

Or are they bosch platinum or other brand?

Did you have the original codes cleared by disconnecting your battery and reconnecting it?

It could just be that the plugs are not the right type OR you may have the wrong wires or teh harness plug is broken.
Check the connector for the cam sensor. Plastic becomes brittle from the heat and the connection might be lose. I had the same thing happen and the connector broke and became disengaged from the sensor. I used a wire tie and electrical tape to keep it plugged into the cam sensor. Then connector is part of a larger harness so I doubt its replaceable without considerable expence.
