Having problems with your 2000 Suzuki Vitara ?

Vitara freewheel hubs stuck in drive position . ( jx4u2 mod.)

\015 I have just bought a 1600 vitara and found that the freewheel hubs are stuck in the drive position, i have taken off hubs and cleaned the lock/free leaver ,this now works fine but hub still remains in drive position all the time is it possible to strip hub and check operation without any special tools. ie i have all general tools puller etc.also do you now of a diagram of hub on the net\015\012\015\012 a.y.r. thanks a.r.t.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-02-2018

Yes you can strip them down but its not easy and you need to be mindfull that there are two large springs inside. You will prob find that there is a part inside that has disintergrated causing the hub to stay in drive. Not sure if you can buy the pars singally though.
