\015 I'm looking to locate the oil sensor or oil sending unit on a 2000 ford ranger 4x4 and its a 6lt I think. Its my girlfriends truck but I'm just trying to figure out where it is on the engine so I can change it out?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-02-2018

Answers :

If your engine is the V6 4.0L SOHC the oil pressure switch is located opposite the oil filter on the drivers side front of engine block under the exhaust manifold. If this is the case you should be able to see it best through the drivers side wheel well by lifting the rubber flap up. It will most likely have a single wire going to it. I would also replace it through the wheel well if I were you. You'll have to jack and take the tire off. Hope this helps. God bless
Generally, they are located- screwed into the side of the block w/ 1 wire plugged into it. Kev-Mn
