2000 Dodge Durango - hard start, engine cuts off

\015 The engine turns over well enough. At first I just thought it was the battery but if I do not give it fuel ( as in holding the pedal down) the engine shuts off. It is like the idle is no longer there but the cables seem to be working fine. All the fuses are good as well.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-03-2018

It is possible that you may have a sensor problem.
Either the Idle position sensor / Throttle position sensor and / or MAF sensor.
These usually work together sending signals and information to the ECU. Usually these sensors work with a designated voltage and resistance capabilities. If any of these sensors are not working properly it is common for the truck to shut off unexpectedly or at start up.
You might want to check and test all your sensors that involve the intake and Mass Air Flow (MAF). I am not a mechanic but I know a few tid bits here n there about cars.
