Having problems with your 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ?

\015 THEY WILL NOT COME ON (NEW FUSES AND BULBS)\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 12-03-2018

Answers :

Remove the fuse from it's holder. Check across the 2 prongs with the DC volt meter. If you have power to the fuse then replace it. Now go to the dome light adn remove the buld. With your door open (to engage the light switch) place one meter lead carefully into the light socket and touch it to the spring at the bottom of the socket and touch the other lead to the side of the socket ( inside metal part. You should have voltage there. If not the your wire is open somewhere between the fuse box and the light.
\015\012 If you ever have a short or open wire you should look to place where there is some sort of movement involved i.e. the wiring harness in the door hinge. or in an area that can be easily kicked or vibrated. A well secured wire seldom has a problem .
\015\012 Just start from the fuse box and follow the wires through to the light. Make no assumptions find your wire.
