Having problems with your 1999 Chevrolet Metro ?

Crankshaft pulley removal - no clearance between frame!

\015 I have a 4 cylinder Chevy Metro LSI and I'm trying to remove the head. The removal process calls for removal of the crank pulley (5 small bolts), and pull the pulley off the crank. Contrary to what the manauls say, the problem is the clearance between the crankshaft pulley and the frame will not allow for the complete removal of the pulley. As long as the pulley remains on the shaft, my efforts to remove the head will be futile. What do you suggest?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-02-2018

Answers :

Put a jack under the engine. Loosen the upper engine mount bolts and lower the engine until you have enough clearance.
