Having problems with your 1997 Mercury Mountaineer ?

My mountaineer 97 cranks and cranks but wont start. after a while crancking it, it will start and wont do it again till the next morning.why

This sounds like a fuel pressure problem.
You need to check out two things that come to mind,first,check what the fuel pressure psi is on the first crank,you should be at least 45-65
second is to have a hand held computer connected to see what temp the coolant sensor is telling the computer in your vehicle is at.If it is reading warm or stuck higher the computer won't be giving enough fuel to the engine.
