Having problems with your 1996 Volkswagen Jetta ?

Please help me have AC

\015 AC blowing hot - I bought a new compressor which cost an arm and a leg, that didn't help. I bought the AC relay, that didn't help. Recharged system - that didn't help. The car does not idle different when the ac button is on or off. I have no idea what else it could be. I really want to try all solutions before paying the local VW dealer 100 an hour to tell me something simple.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-02-2018

I had the same problem with my 96 jetta, no freon leaks, when I push the ac button on (with the fan switch on), the ac electrical clutch engages compressor is turning, system is fully charged. It was compressor failure, you need to replace the compressor, and everything down the line cause it is contaminated with debris from your compressor.
\015\012You need an expansion valve, drier/ accumulator, and seal kit(o-rings an so forth), should cost between $400-$500 range.
\015\012You also need to clean your lines of debris.
\015\012One shop was going to charge $1,100 this includes parts, freon and labor, you can save $500+ to do it yourself.
