Location of knock sensor? - 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Answers :

Look under exhaust manifold on drivers side, closer to rear of \012engine, mounted on engine block.

Keep in mind that the knock sensor is a tuned piezoelectric crystal transducer that is \012located in the cylinder head. The knock sensor provides the MCU with an \012electrical signal that is created by vibrations that correspond to its \012center frequency (5550 Hz). Vibrations from engine knock (detonation) \012cause the crystal inside the sensor to vibrate and produce an electrical\012 signal that is used by the MCU to selectively ****** the ignition \012timing of any single cylinder or combination of cylinders to eliminate \012the knock condition.

This and other details can find in the Grand Cherokee Service Manual.

Good luck (remember rated this).
