Having problems with your 1994 Dodge Caravan ?

How do i change the drivers side transaxle in a 1994 dodge carava

\015 The CV joint is making alot of noise on my 1994 dodge caravan. I've been told that it's easier to change the d haverivers side transaxle instead of just replacing the cv joint. I have done this before in an oldsmobile but the hanes manual states that I have to take out bellhousing bolts and alot of other stuff to change this. In the olds all Ihad to do was undue the tie rod end, balljoint and the strut support and the axle popped right out and the new one popped right in. This Caravan seems to be a whole lot more difficult according to the Hanes Manual. Could you give me the instructions to do this on my Caravan?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-03-2018

Answers :

To change the CV axle, you have to remove the lower ball joint, remove the axle nut, remove from hub, (you can pull the strut out far enough to do this), and the axle will pull out. Install in reverse order. Sounds like you were trying to remove the transmission.
