Having problems with your 1993 Lexus Es 300 ?

Overheating after 10 minutes

\015 I am looking to buy a 1993 lexus es300. The owner had a leak in the radiator and put in a bottle of stop leak. Unfortunately he didn't flush the coolant out first. He then replaced the radiator and thermostat. It is now overheating almost 10 minutes after start up. I fear that he has created some clogging some place. Any ideas on where and what to look for?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-02-2018

Hi I'm litoshop first thing you have to check is if the radiator fans are turning on open the hood and turn the engine on then look at the fans if there turning on you have to wait a few minutes because they don't turn on right away the engine has to get to at lease 180 degrees, if they don't turn on then your problem is the fans if they do turn on then do another test with the engine cold fill up the radiator to the top then turn on engine at the same time look if the water in the radiator jumps out if you see that reaction then you have burned head gaskets good luck if this information has been useful please let use know thank you
Yes it probably gummked up some of the coolnat passgae ways or harmed the water pump.
