Having problems with your 1993 Ford Festiva ?

After finding out that the wheels and tires from a Mazda 323 "13" fit my Ford Festiva 12", I found a Mazda and change out the tires. Problem is that the shocks in the back just barely touch the upper inside side of the new tires. Light rubbing when you turn a corner. Can the shocks be lifted up somehow. It is the lower edge of the shock, the round metal piece where the rod comes out, that rubs the tire.

You can't alter your existing shock absorber. There are aftermarket shocks that are not as big around, however, does it make sense to alter your suspension so that an oversize tire will work? Unfortunately, since the tires rub just a bit, they really do not fit. My recommendation would be to go with the tire size that is recommended by Ford. By putting a 13" on the car designed for 12" you have changed your ride height, (handling), your speedometer will not read correctly, and you have altered the turning geometry. Go with the 12's. Good Luck! I hope you find this very helpful!
