Having problems with your 1991 Ford F150 ?

My 1991 Ford f-150 Lariat 5.0 has a starting problem. After it has been driven for a few minutes and then I shut it off, it won't start back up until several hours later after it has cooled down. Then it's as if there was no problem. (That is until I drive for a while then shut it off and immediately try to start it back up again.) What gives?

Answers :

It sounds like you might have a bad pick up coil, control module or the EEC relay. When it won't start, I'd check to see if you are getting spark. Some parts stores such as Auto Zone can test the control module.
