Having problems with your 1991 Ford Escort ?

My heat stopped working my cars blowing smoke out of the muffler and my temperature gauge is past hot but the carrs engine isnt smoking

Becareful with the overheating. If there is smoke out the tail pipe check for water as well if there is water you might have a blown haed gasket. The engine does not need to smoke for something to be wrong with it thats why i tell you be careful. Check the oil as well pull the dipstick if the oil looks like a light chocolate or tan in color you definetly have water in the oil and a blown head gasket.Also if your oil level reads high on the dipstick your water is going imto your crank case.
Your heat stoped working because the engine is low on watter the smoke you see is steam from a blowen head gasket
