Having problems with your Volvo S60 ?

How to put on a timing belt for s60 2001, already repalced water pump, idler pulley and tensioner pulley. It is very tight. Is there any secret when the belt is very tight -- I used all Volvo OEM components

Answers :

The tensioner itself has a hole for a six mm allen wrench. you use that to tighten( or to applt tension ) to the belt. spec only calls for about 15ft lbs of torque. turn the engine clockwise twice and recheck your tension. just so we are very clear the hole for the tensioners 6mm hole should be in the 10 o clock position. if its not, loosen it up and reposition. i hope this helps. please respond. i can send pics through email if neccessary. cheers
