One of the head gaskets is leaking antifreeze down the side the engine. I need a manual with detailed instructions on how to replace the head gasket. It is the lumina car with the 3.1 engine. The manual needs to cover everything that needs to be remove to get to the head and the specifications needed to replace the gasket.

Trying to remove head to replace head gasket on 2.0 L non-turbo engine on '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse. My Haynes manual says to remove the intake manifold stays and the head can be removed without removing the intake manifold from the head. It does not mention the black plastic box that is mounted over these stays. I took off three nuts that seem to hold this box in place, but it does not come off. What is this box and how do I remove it to get access to the manifold stays?

We are fitting a reconditioned cyl. head to Toyota 2C T diesel turbo engine .On the new head gasket kit they say we should replace head bolts . The old ones are in perfect condition and came out easily with no binding , when old head was removed. In your experence with these engines ,can we get away with using the old head bolts ? We live on an isolated Island in the South Pacific and it is difficult to get engine parts like this from the local Toyota dealer.

Hi! Just a tip that may enlighten you on this one. Used to work on one myself, 3 bolts may refer to the top aircleaner case. 8 bolts for the valve cover itself. You will need a size 12 socket to remove this. Hope this helps and good luck! ... 1989 Nissan Stanza
