Car running rough WHAT WAY IS EASIEST TO SET TIMING

... Toyota 4Runner

A P0401 code sets. I have done the egr valve three times on this car. I have cleaned the intake and the exhaust tube five times. The last time was only 1000 miles ago. The egr valves are new from the dealer. When the code sets it causes a rough running and hard starting. When I take the egr valve off it is stuck part way open. Any suggestions on what is causing this and how to repair it long term? I run a fleet and this has happened to other viraras as well. thanks.John.

The vehicle, a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, 5.2L V8 has 209,000 miles on it, the engine which is a factory remanufactured engine has 130,000 miles on it. The car has been running fine for a long time and I've tuned it up in the past. Recently it started running a little rough at times. if I turned the car off then turned it on again, it would run ok again but I went ahead and tuned it up since it probably was way overdue. I replaced spark plugs, plug wires, rotor, cap. It runs but it's

I have asked this question a few times before Can steering while car is stationary in drive cause any sort of damage to a car. I was messing around with my car one day and turned the steering all the way left and all the way right about 15-20 times. The steering wheel felt slightly tight to one side so I thought maybe there might be some air in the power steering pump, and I thought that would help get the air out. But since I did this, the car seems to be running rough. When I let off the accel

I had the timing belt tensioner replaced, timing reset on 95 ford escort, now the car acts as though it wants to cut off and the check oil light comes on. What could cause this? I was told that the exhaust manifold is cracked. Could this cause the engine to run really rough and make the check oil light come on? Im at my wits end with this car. Also, if the mechanic didn't make 2 resolutions when setting the timing, could that throw it off?

Hi, I asked a question the other day relating to starting problems with a Madza 626 1992 GE. I have replaced the coil and spark plugs. However inside the distributor cap the is another black cover that has 3 hair line cracks. Could this cap be a problem if cracked? The car appears starts but runs at very low revs and very rough. I have taken the rotor button off but i am not sure if i put the rotor back on the same way. Could this be timing? and how can i fix the timing if its not right? Any

I would replace distributor cap first. cause a little moisture in there can cause misfires, making you feel like your running rough. if not i believe your timing belt and that would need to be checked by mech. ... 1992 Mazda 626

Hello Experts, 1999 Chrysler Sebring LXi v6 2.5L. Car had a hard time starting. It would turn over but not start. When it did start, it would run and idle fine for about 4 minutes and then die. I've recently replaced the fuel filter and crankshaft position sensor. Now the car starts up every time but is running very rough. I've taken it for a drive and no matter what speed I get up to, it never stops running rough? Does the computer need to be reset?
