Having problems with your Suzuki Reno ?

Car stalled. check engine light on. check oil light on Temp gauge in is maxed out at hot. will crank over but not start. I let it cool. it started but ran rough for 30 seconds then smoothed out. temp stayed just above half. took it to the nearest auto/muffler shop. they said it was head gasket was leaking. I had it towed to dealer. they said it was a thermostat. and want $85 for the thermostat and 1.5 hrs labor. This seems to high to me. However it is a 2006 Suzuki Reno 4 dr. - and I know f

1.5 hours is standard for a thermostat. The least they would tell you is an hour which they won't even do that obviously. I would give that a try then see from there. It sounds like it could be the thermostat though it sounds like you could have blown the head gasket by overheating it if it maxed out hot while you were running and all those lights came on.
