Answers :

Thermo's are not the kind of parts that you can fix. If something is wrong with them, you don't risk your engine. Throw it away and get a new one. Any other case and you're risking eventually a new engine because of possible overheating, due to defective thermostat.

Heating problem I have a 1999 dodge grand caravan V6 3.3L. 190,000. Cant get rid of it yet but now have problem. It seems that the hose coming form the radiator to the rear heating unit has eroded away. I have antifreeze leaking everywhere and need to know how to fix it. I know that you can bypass the entire heating system but need to know how I can tell if that will fix the problem.

I suggest getting a Haynes repair guide for that model at your parts store. It will show you the major connections and how to get at them. You can compare what you see to what the book shows as the major components and then decide what to do. ... 1995 Dodge Caravan

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab pickup. Last year when winter came I got the check engine code P1281. I replaced the thermostat and fixed the problem. Now, its getting cold again and I get the same code. I know how to fix the problem, but my question is why do I keep getting thermostat problems? Could it be my radiator needs flushing out? I bought the thermo last year at a local Auto Zone. But I would suspect it to last more than ONE YEAR!!

Yes, the radiator might have a lot of crime in it. it would be best to do a complete engine and radiator flush to clean debris from entire system. then refill with anti-freeze. the best thermostat for a vehicle is a super stat if you can find one, ... Dodge Ram 1500

Our 2003 grand prix keeps just NOT STARTING. We looked online and found a site that let us know that it was probably a computer/security system and to reset, we needed to unplug the battery and then give it a few minutes to reset itself. This has picked up in frequency and sometimes takes quite a while to get started. Not great for when I need to go to work. Is there something we can do to fix the problem without throwing temporary bandaid on it that won't break us?

Popped hood fixed top hose leak with clamp. Then noticed the gauge in car registered nothing as in cold and the two fans run all the time. Could this be that I need a new engine coolant temp sensor?

Yes that is what the code means. GM usually uses two, one that makes the gauge work and one that tells the ECM what the engine temp. is. You need the one for the computer. ... 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
