I have established that my starter is bad, and I'm in the process of trying to remove it. I have removed the electrical wires, and the two retaining bolts (with extreme difficulty!) but there seems to be a third retaining bolt on the top of the unit , that is extremely difficult to get to. Its obstructed by the oil filter and two nearby pipes. There are also two small nuts which appear to be stablising the starter to a bracket. They look like they both need to be removed. Does this seem familia

It is a 3 bolt starter for sure, And yes the bracket has to be removed, Id advise removing the oil filter as well, But it can be done without it.. ... 1993 Ford Tempo

I have a2002 GMC envoy and I rented a fan clutch wrench set and for the life of me I cant get the nut loose. I got one wrench on nut itself, and another one of those tools grasping on two bolts and that tool keeps slipping off. Cant get a good grasp of the bolts, it even started bending the tool. I even tried to hit the wrench on the nut with a hammer and that didnt work. I believe its counter clockwise. I just dont think Im doing it right.

I changed the air filter today and ended up having to remove that one part that connected to the air filter housing. I turned my car off to go into the store when I came back out it wouldn't start. acted like it wasn't getting fuel put more gas in it still wouldn't start. someone said it was probably fuel pump so I put a fuel pump on it then a fuel filter, then a crank shaft censor, still won't start, someone then told me it was the theft system so I tried two different methods that two different shops told me to try neither of the two worked, now someone says it could be the timing, can anyone tell me how to

Prc solenoid I do not think this is hooked up correctly. There are 3 nipples on this solenoid. One of them is metal, the other two form a 90 degree angle and are plastic. There is a mitsubishi small air filter of some sort that goes with it. Does the air filter go onto the metal nipple? I just bought the car and the air filter was on the other end to the metal nipple- it was on the black plastic nipple. I failed etest with very high NO ppm. Could this be the reason?

The oil filter cap/dome on my 1997 BMW 318i will not undo when I turn it anti cloackwise. There is no bolt holding the cap/dome onto the oil filter housing but on the plastic dome there is a small marking in the centre which could be the head of a very narrow screw bolt. But I don't think so. I am turning the plastic oil filter cap/dome with the correct wrench but it just won't budge.

Hi, I have a scanner cause engine light is on, shows vacuum leak large. tried new gas cap, cleaned filler tube where gas cap contacts, replaced a plastic tube from valve cover to air filter hose. tried to locate by using a propane torch gas with no difference in running, not sure how to check plastic tube to tank. got a vacuum gauge to check manifold. not sure where to put gauge to troubleshoot. any ideas? also service manuals seem non existent. thanks, Steve

What code is it?po440,p0455?If it is one of those codes it means you have a large evap system leak not a vacuum leak by the engine.the evap leak is most likely a inop vent valve or a fuel cap not properly sealing. ... 2005 Chevrolet Uplander

Well the code 448 is for a vent valve on the evap system for the gas tank. So I doubt it has anything to do with the no start condition.I would look for a problem with the crank or cam sensor, or the module the coil connects to. ... 2003 Pontiac Grand Am
