Having problems with your Mitsubishi Eclipse ?

I have a 99 eclipse its a automatic non turbo the engine is a 2.0 an i put a new engine in it but when i hook the battery up the engine cranks over without the key on the ignition,why is that?

Good evening. Where you might try starting (no pun intended) is to check your starter wires to be sure your positive is not jumped over from the main to the trigger wire. Somewhere along the trigger you are getting power and it just may be from there. Hope this helps, and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
