Having problems with your Lincoln Continental ?

Got a distributor recently for a vin a 460 but it would not fit so ended up getting one for a 351w it done the job butthe gear was ruined within ten minutes i was wondering would you have any ideas my car is a 77 lincoln continental engine number is D1VE-6015-A2B

Answers :

The cam gear is damaged you must remove the camshaft and replace the cam and also drop oil pan and clean metal out of the pan . otherwise the same thing will happen im sorry but those are the facts .

What do you mean wiuth " gear was ruined", working on the distributor should not affect gears explain in details what is wrong with your car now.
