2007 jeep compass starter engaged at all times, burning up starter

\015 The vehicle would not start. The starter has a burnt smell to it. Replaced the starter. The vehicle started after the starter was replaced, but the starter stayed engaged and burnt the new starter. I disconnected the battery to take away power from the starter. Now I'm stuck. There are no technical service bulletins for this concern.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 22-01-2018
