Having problems with your Ford Ranger ?

Batter drains when it is off. just replaced the battery and negative cable. new negative cable only came with 2 wires whereas the original came with 3 wires. two of which ran to a connecter with two prongs. i left the prongs on the car without connecting to anywhere. i spliced the smaller ground wire to the factory wire connecting to what looks to be the body of the truck and reconnected the main wire to the engine block. now when i try to jump the battery it cranks but doesnt turn over and ru

Answers :

Yes becuase what you have don is one of the computers main components is not grounded do this take the tire you splice clean it off and ground it straight to the chassis and this should fix the problem hope this helps they are grounds to the computers
