Where is it leaking? If it is the back cover, all you need to do is take the bolts out of the cover (with a drain pan underneath) clean it, and reinstall it with a new gasket or RTV sealant and fill with fresh gear oil. If it is a pinion seal (where the drive shaft goes in) remove the drive shaft, marking its position relative to the yoke on the rear. Wrap the rear universal joint in tape if necessary to prevent the u-joint from coming apart (trust me, you don't want that!) Mark the position of the pinion nut to the yoke and remove it. Pull the yoke and the seal. Install a new seal, coating the outside edge with RTV to seal it to the housing. Reassemble, making sure your marks are lined up when finished and top off with fresh gear oil as necessary. If it is an axle seal (leak is at a wheel) the process varies depending on if it is a floating or semi-floating rear. Most E-350's should be floating, but I can't be sure. A floating axle protrudes through the wheel several inches in the center and has a circle of 6-10 bolts around it. A semi-floating does not protrude through the wheel at all and has no bolts. Message me back with which type you have and I'll give you more specific directions if it is an axle seal. If you need more detailed directions for either of the others, message me as well. Good luck.

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger that has a battery drain. When the car sits overnight the next morning the battery if completely drained. I've done some research and found that it may be linked to the Security System (Ford's stock system with the chip in the key that corresponds to the ignition) in the truck, and if I disconnect the system, the car won't start, and to disconnect when I turn it off and reconnect when I go to start it is inconvenient. Any suggestions on how to fix it or how to find a

About a month ago I began hearing rattling noises when I would depress the clutch. Over a few days the noise became less noticeable but then I started having trouble shifting gears (5 speed manual transmission ford ranger 2002). It was first diagnosed as a leaky master cylinder and that was fixed. The truck drove fine for a couple of days and then the difficulty returned to the point where I could not drive the truck at all. Then it was diagnosed as the input shaft, that was a week ago. Today

If the bearings were worn out due to high milage, the input shaft will have too much play in it. To replace all of the bearings is a big job, and a lot of shops won't do it. They may have replaced the transmission to save time, as replacing the beari ... 2002 Ford Ranger Regular Cab
