2005 cobalt, battery hooked up backwards

\015 We had a dead battery, my wife asked a friend to hook up the battery, he forced it in backwards, there was smoke, they limped home now battery won't hold a charge but tests as ok. We were advised to check the relay for the alternator, but i can't find it. we've read about a "fusible link" but can't find any real information. Nothing around the alternator looks burned, but I don't know much about cars beyond basic maintenance. If all they did was blow a relay/fusible link where can i find it? (already checked the fuse boxes, if there's any way it might be labeled I don't know it)\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 11-12-2017

Answers :

I think the relay switches are under the hood near the winshield, Also there possibly is some fuses in the glovebox as well.
