I replaced all 4 brakes on my 98 chevy malibu. for some reason i am not getting pressure back. but am being told i dont need to bleed the brakes. should i anyway. or could the adjusted on the rear drums being to far apart cause me to have the problem of the brake pedal traveling to far?

Both air in the brake lines and rear drums too far out of adjustment will cause the pedal to go to the floor repeatedly.Bleed from the wheel that's farthest away from the master cylinder first, typically driver's side rear. Then bleed the ... 1998 Chevrolet Malibu

I have a 1994 Chevy Suburban 1500 with 4wd. I just replaced the two front calipers and pads and driver side rotor. I bled the brakes for hours getting a steady stream of clear fluid yet still no brake pedal pressure. It will build up during pumpimg but then it travels to the floor when you let it rest. I was told it was the master cylinder so I got a new one, bench bled, installed and rebled all 4 brakes again. Again I did this for hours going through two 32oz bottles of fluid. What else could i

You should replace the rotors in pairs but that's not the problem. As you replaced the callipers I would check the hoses are tight into the callipers as air seems to be getting in somewhere. How did you bleed them? The old method of a tube and a jam ... Chevrolet Suburban 1500

The 2004 GMC 1500 4x4 pedal seems to travel to far. should they replace pads..or something else?

If the vehicle has rear drum brakes, I would check the adjustment on them, if they are too loose, this will cause the brake pedal to go down low. ... 2006 GMC Sierra

I bled the brakes in weel sequence on a 94 chevy suburban.and the pedal still has excessive travel a simi soft feel and 70% braking braking ability and the abs light & brake light stay on.what coud be wrong?

Brakes are a pain. It sounds like the Crossover valve is not centered and you are using diagonal braking with only 2 wheels. Since 2 wheels are shut off, you need to bleed the fartherest rear wheel. If you have a helper you can have him/her pump t ... 1994 Chevrolet Suburban

97 Chevy Suburban. Front left brake caliper apllies brake pressure but will not close when pressure to the pedal is relieved. Braking system wife complained brake pedal went to the floor. i checked brake lines and found no leaks. brake resevoir is still full. pedal travels about 4" towards floor. what i have described happens when the car is running. i pumped the brakes when the car was not running and the brake pedal traveled only 2 to 3 inches to stop, when i started the car again, the pedal traveled the 4" inches again. pads are at about half gone. i was told by one guy that the booster will need replacing but i see
