I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 that i need to add an electric brake, i have the brake wiring and a factory harness, however i need to switch out the harness at the rear of the truck to a 7-pin, do i need to order that part from chevy and will the trailer lights and brakes work then?

The brake lights on the cab of a 2006 chevy silverato do not work. the brake lights on the box do work fine . I do not have 12v on the wire going to the cab when the brake leaver is pressed.There is only one switch on the brake leaver that i can see .I have 12v on the switch at all times and i do get power on the white wire when i press the brake leaver . I have a 94 chevy truck and the rear tail light don't work. Running light and turn signal work. Changed out the switch on the brake pedal and the muti function wire on the column. Still no lights what else do i need to do to get them to work without having to take it to a shop.

My 1957 Chevy 3200 pickup has NO wiring for brake lights and turn signals, and I'm not quite sure how to get started to install.
