What does the clutch act like when the clutch master cylinder goes out? There still seems to be some pressure in the pedal for 2 or 3 pumps then the pedal stays to the floor. Manually pulling the pedal up you can pump it again 1 or 2 times and then it stays to the floor. The clutch will not disengage. When you turn the car over the vehicle starts moving even with the pedal depressed. We have heard it may be the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder. There doesn't seem to be any fluid leaking

So... are you ready for my clutch question? I had the clutch on my 5 speed 2001 Elantra replaced with new components. The clutch would vibrate or pulsate at the pedal when depressing it. Also a clicking noise could be heard. I also had the master cylinder replaced because it was leaking. The clutch pedal felt much better after the $1000 in repairs, no clicking and smooth operation. Now after 300 miles the old problem is back... pulsating pedal and clicking when depressing clutch... Any ideas?

I was having trouble with the clutch in my 84 Nissan PU: extremely soft pedal and difficulty changing gears while running. The master cylinder was leaking fluid into the car compartment so I replaced it thinking that was the sole problem. However when I started to bleed the system from the slave cylinder bleed screw, which itself was not leaking anywhere, pumping the pedal had no effect on the swing fork/arm. I expected some movement in the arm as the pedal forced the slave piston out, but there

My clutch pedal sits on the floor, doesnt come up on its own. I replaced both the master and slave cylinders and the bleeding process is too long. Pull up clutch pedal, all the way up. now fill fluid to top, now open the slave cylinder, it should bleed just with gravity. let it drip for a few minutes or until you have to fill it up 2 times. Make sure that when the pedal is all the way up, that ... 1993 Ford Probe

2003 Subaru WRX Wagon - every now and then, the clutch pedal doesn't disengage the clutch until way down on the pedal's travel. Other days, it's up at its normal position. I'm guessing that the clutch master must be leaking fluid past the seal. But I can't find a common denominator to the different occasions when it has happened. Sometimes hot, sometimes on first start-up of the day. What do you think?

I think u need to bleed the system if i remember right this is a hydraulic clutch and somtimes air pockets will cause this. but first check all the lines too make sure no leaks are visible. then replace if doesnt work. ... 2003 Subaru Impreza

1987 nissan pickup- clutch worked fine one day, next time the pedal went almost to the floor with no resistance, I had about 1" distance from the floor to disengage the clutch. checked the master cylinder when the pedal depressed, fluid did not move. no leaks to the slave cylinder. I could easily move the clutch release lever.

My daughter's 1997 Camry V-6 - Clutch pedal will go to the floor and sometimes won't come back. Checked fluid in clutch reservoir - OK. No fluid leaking. Had her press the clutch pedal and everything seems to work. She says it works fine when cold but doesn't work OK after she drives the car for a few miles.

Clutch problem. Clutch is up high in the morning when I first start out. After about 5 - 10 miles it goes closer to the bottom until I can't shift out of gear or it stalls when I stop with the pedal all the way depressed and my foot on the brake. Have had the main cylinder replaced recently and the slave a couple years ago and the lines bled a couple times with no change. No leaks visible around either cylinder and the fluid is full. After it sits for a couple hours or over night, the pedal co

My 1990 4Runner is experiencing problems with the clutch pedal which is no longer effective in engaging gears. The clutch is fine, I believe that there is an issue with the fluid in the hydraulic line. The master cylinder was a bit low and I topped it up, but can't seem to get the pressure in the lines. Possibly there has been a leak and there is an air pocket. I'm not sure how to bleed this out? There is a flexable hose which may have a leak and I attempted to remove this but can't lo

Clutch cylinder possibly leaking. Fluid level not changed, but clutch does not disengage when pedal is pressed. No resistance in pedal.

Assuming the linkage at the clutch is not broken, this symptom indicates a failed master cylinder. First check to see that slave piston is not coming out when pedal is pushed in (if it is, the problem is inside the clutch housing). You might also t ... 1996 Dodge Avenger

I have a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo in which the clutch pedal went to the floor & stayed there. Upon inspection, the clutch master cylinder was empty on fluid. I filled the reservoir & bleed the clutch master slave cylinder with no luck. After the car had sat for a couple day's I noticed a leak coming from the slave cylinder. I replaced the slave cylinder & bleed the air from the line, now my problem is that the clutch feels more like the brake petal then a clutch. The petal builds pressure but never goes

1998 Formula, clutch goes straight to floor and while I can physically get the pedal up I can't get it to go in gear while car is on. I have put it in gear while the car is off and started it and it will move but I'm stuck in that gear. Clutch was starting to feel a little soft at times leading up to going completely out and I was always able to pump the clutch to get it back to normal. Clutch fluid level never changed so its not a leak there. I'm assuming its just the master cylinder but not
