Having problems with your 2007 Lexus IS 250 ?

I just changed he battery in my key for my IS 250 (keyless) Now that I changed the battery (Renata CR1632 new exchanged for an old Panasonic CR1632 lithium battery) the red indicator on the key blinks faintly, however, the car doors and trunk won't open. There is a metal key attached but I'm not sure how to utilize it to start the car David

Answers :

Your key goes into sleep mode when not in range of your car (which emits a frequency that searches for, and wakes, the key). If the key is within three feet of a fluorescent bulb or a cell phone charger (or a few other devices that emit a certain frequency), the key doesn't go to sleep and this causes the battery to deplete faster than normal. Try using a fresh energizer or duracell battery, it is possible that the NEW battery you placed into the remote was old stock and is near dead. If it is still blinking faintly after you put a confirmed good battery in it then replace the defective key fob.
