I used to get a voltage reading of 13.6 volts on the electronic dash of my 1997 C5 but after the battery ran down ( 4 1/2 years old )the battery voltage now reads 13.2 volts on the electronic dash. I started the car while the flat battery was flat using jump leads and all seems OK except except the battery voltage. The alternator seems to be charging but is the 13.2 volts due to the battery being old ? I believe the right voltage should be 13.6 to 14.4 volts. Malcolm Place - East Sussex UK

13.2 volts is all your tired old battery can hold.anything above the 12 volts it's rated at indicates it's charging OK.it may increase again, but nothing beats new.consider a battery tender to keep it fresh if it sits for long periods. ... 1999 Chevrolet Corvette

I have a 2010 Kia cerato koup. Have the car for almost 2 years now and it seriously isn't feeling as fast as it used to be. When it was about one year old it could do 170km/h on this stretch of road just up the street. Tried it again today and had it flat the whole way, I could only manage 150km/h and couldn't even make it to fourth gear even with the air con off. The car was feeling even slower until I got it serviced last month which gave it abit more power. Now what to do

I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent 1.5 L, and the check engine light keeps coming on. I have read the codes on OBD II and found that it is P1123 that is the only code that shows up. I have changed both oxygen sensors and still get the check engine light. Is there any way of checking that the oxygen sensors are good or not? The MAF is less than a year old. Is there any way to check for fuel injector leaks? If so how do you do it? Do you have any suggestions on what can be done to rectify this problem?

Locate the ruel pressure regulator on the fuel injector rail- pull the vacuum line off it and turn the key to "run" position. You may see a small geyser of gasoline from that hose connection as the fuel line pressurizes. If so- replace the regulato ... 2000 Hyundai Accent

I have a 1995 Buick Park Avenue that has been sluggish for some time and gets very poor gas mileage. It just so happens that none of the diagnostic computers want to read this car because it is what they call the half and half. It's inbetween the years that they changed from the old system to the new. Anyway I have been told several times to replace the mass air flow sensor. I was just getting ready to do this when these mechanics told me they did test the fuel system and it is telling them

That question didn't make since to me either when I read it. It's even the wrong year for my truck. Here is my problem, I have a 2004 f150 4x4 and the rear (back one) u-joint needs to be replaced. When the Jeep was new the volt meter read 14 volts....now the volt meter reads 13 volts with a one year old battery. Since the battery is a 12 volt battery should there be any concern that the volt meter reads 13 volts rather than 14 volts?

Generally the standard voltage should be 13.5 to 15.5 depending on the load that is being put on the vehicle and age of the battery an older battery may require more voltage to charge. Unless the voltage drops below 13 you are probably ok. ... 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Code-Screen I had my car fixed two years ago and the Mechanic told me that he went undr the dashboard and pulled all the codes from the ECM to make a repair. My 2000 Hyundai Elantra is stalling intermintantly as I slow down at stop signs/lights, etc. I have noticed that the speedometer is not working properly.....i.e. when I'm moving at 30 mph the speedo is reading 10 mph ? But no engine lights are present.... I would think that this should cause a speed sensor/throttle sensor/fuel type sensor to activate a light ? Is there a possibility that the computer is bad ? Is the speed sensor external ? and is there a seperate computer for the transmission ?

Daewoo Lacetti 1.6 - ever since the car was about a year old the check engine light has been on. The SERE engineers said it was nothing to worry about at each service interval.
