1999 Town Car Running Lights Not Working... I have a hard wired a flat-4 trailer light receptical that I use occasionally. It has worked fine for me for the past several years. A few days ago I connected to a trailer that was mis-wired and later discovered that the cars running lights (front, rear, side marker and License plate lights) no longer work. I figured I blew a fuse, but I checked and they are all fine. My next thought was I had fried the Lighting Control Module (LCM). I bought a used L

I have a 1997 Ford F150 4x4 Supercab Stepside with 5.4L and factory towing package. On the factory trailer wiring plug I am not getting power for turn signals or brake lights. Running lights and brake controller work fine. I have checked fuses, and one was blown, which I replaced to get running lights working. But I still do not have brake or turn signals at the plug. Is there something else I can check before tracing the lines?

No, check the wiring in the rear going to hitch plug, they may have rotted or broke,if lights work on the truck then i would say its wiring, test wiring moving backward until you get power, this way you can pinpoint break location area, good luck, ho ... 1997 Ford F150 Regular Cab

First the running light feed to the trailer connection ( factory installed ) fed no power to the trailer, I also found the fuses for the trailer turn signals both left and right were blown. I replaced them and the trailer turn signal and brake lights are ok but still no running light power from the Envoy. About a month after this the right rear running lights in rear turn signal brake

I have a 97 expedition that has the factory towing pkg. I recently went to plug in my trailer that has always worked fine with this truck and no brake or turn lights but running lights. I checked the fuse under the hood and it was blown. I have replaced it and still no turn or brake lights, just running lights. The fuse is still good, but I replaced it anyways. When I hook up my horse trailer to my 2003 Ford Excursion, it blows the fuse for the running lights. The blinkers and brake lights work, but that is all. If I change the blown fuse, it will only blow again. I had the plug changed because it appeared loose and that did not seem to fix the problem. When the place put a 25 amp fuse in place of the 20 amp, it seemed to be fine. Is it safe to use the 25 amp. or could it be a grounding issue with the trailer. The wiring harness is probably faulty. Get a light tester to see if power is going to the harness, and if the harness is receiving it by testing current flow on the connectors. it might just be that the harness is not receivng power and has to be rep ... 2001 Chevrolet Silverado

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram that came with the tow package. When I plug in my 7-pin trailer (with electric brakes) everything works fine until I turn on the truck lights. When I turn on the truck lights, I loose both of my turn signals and brake lights on the trailer. The running lights stay on. I unplugged the brake controller and still have the same problem. I compared my trailer plug diagram to my trucks manual and everything appears to be wired correctly.

If you have amber signal lights & red brake lights, it's 2 separate circuits. You'll need to buy a small converter that you wire into harness to correct that. Not expensive, try autoparts store or RV/trailer sales, should have them. ... 2008 Ford F-350
