Hope this helps all.... If the key is stuck (won't come out) and the column is NOT locked, on the gear shift there is a plastic sleeve. Put the gear shift in park...slide your hand below the knob and pull that sleeve up! Presto!!! it locks in park and the key comes out. I just put all the stuff i took apart back together... the other solutions may work but this is the first step to check... no tools and you know right away...

Usually there is a little button you push there while you remove the key and it will come out. Otherwise, I would take apart the dash and remove it that way. Good luck!

Key stuck in ignition, no electrical power. I have a 2005 Volvo S40. When I put the key in the ignition I was able to turn it past 0, but upon doing that all power was lost and I was unable to return the key back to the 0 position and the automatic shifter locked in the park position. I have tried moving the steering wheel to all positions and also tried to jump start the vehicle. I am at a loss for what to do and there is no local dealership for me to consult with.

A key, without a chip, was cut to open the door of my 2002 Honda Odyssey. Unfortunately, someone tried to start the van with the same key. It is now stuck in the ignition and I can not pull it out. The ignition will not turn to 0 it will only turn to I. The van will start if the old key is held to the key in the ignition but the light for the gear shifter will not go off, the P stays lit. Are these available by giving Ford a vin#, or is this car too old for that? Or, can I get these from other companies for less?

It is best to get them directly form Ford, they should be able to reproduce the fobs and keys based on the VIN (GM did this for my 1996 Pontiac when the fob broke). \015\012\015\012*Other companies do reproduce fobs, you can buy them from many ... Ford Taurus

I have a 3 year old Ford Focus LX and cannot open the bonnet when using the ignition key in the lock underneath the Ford badge. The only one previous occasion it happened I managed to open it after a couple of minutes but there didn't seem anything obviously wrong as the lock operated ok when I reinserted the key to check why it was jamming. I added some light oil in case it was a lubrication problem. The key moves in both directions as it should but the release mechanism is clearly not operati

I have a 2000 Ford Focus that the key won't turn. In order to remove the ignition cylinder, the key needs to be turned to the accessory position. I'm looking for instructions on how to remove a FROZEN ignition cylinder so I can do it myself!

I have a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT. The push button on the gear shifter knob got stuck all the sudden and does fully release after switching between gear letters P R N D 3 1.
