2006 ford F-250 super duty water in fuel light came on after hard freeze

Answers :

Sounds like whatever condensation there was in the tank froze and upon thawing, instead of staying on the lining of the fuel tank, it combined with the fuel. There are several products that are very good at removing moisture from the fuel tank. I always preferred Dri-Gas. Several bottles along with a full tank of gas should have you straightened out after driving the truck for about 100 miles.
I don't have any specific info on the the Ford, but I've had a VW diesel for years.

\015\012Best bet would be to add some Power Service or other fuel conditioner. Might also change the fuel filter to be sure you don't have water there. The filter might have a petcock or drain at the bottom also. You would just open that and collect a cupful or so of whatever comes out. Will likely be a mix of fuel and water.
