Having problems with your 2006 Chrysler 300 ?

The MIL light is on (Malfuctioning indicator light)The car has 610000 miles. The light is not flashing. What could this be? The gas cap is tight, There is no dip stick for the transmission. I disconnected the neg terminal of the battery. Still on.....I also did the diagnostic test, turn the key on and after 10 seconds the light flashes for about 10 sec and then goes solid............

Answers :

You will need the fault code read. It will be an emmision fault, if the car drives ok then most likely a Lambda fault.
A car newer than 1996 has OBD II (on board diagnostics) You can not reset codes by disconnecting the battery. Havve the codes read by someone with a scan tool able to do it. If there are Autozones in your area, they'll usually check them for free
