Having problems with your 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt ?

I was driving home tonight and all of sudden I felt something slip in engine and the message engine reduced power came across. The symbol t/c came on also. My check engine light has been on for almost two months. I have a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LT. I could drive home but the engine had reduced power.

Answers :

Check the drive belt, and the alternator, most likely if the belt is still on,and it is running on the pulleys ok,then the alternator maybe out, have it checked, with out the alternator working the engine will not perform.
Have the shop check the valves cause I just had to have one replace in my 2006 cobalt valve seat cracked
