Having problems with your 2005 Mercury Montego ?

Major vibration or bucking sensation when slowing to a stop. Shifting into neutral stops it. Started in fall but disappeared in colder winter months, now is starting again as weather gets warmer. Any ideas?

Answers :

I have same problem with my 2005 with 65,000 miles---think it is down shift between 2nd & 1st gear making noise. I read on ford 500 forum
that the dealership reprogrammed the transmission---but not sure how this works.
I welcome any advise.
