Timing is correctly set, but it wants to fire, then keeps turning over, keep going back checking and rechecking the timing. It has spark at No1 spark plug, the vehicle smells of plenty of non fired fuel in No1 cyld. Is there any type of cam & crank sensor, if where are they located. When i try to start my car it will only start with the gas fully on, and it will barley run at 1000 rpm and it is backfiring. No it wont be the timing belt it would start at all, it sound more of a distributor rotor that has shifted out of its socket, open the cap and check the rotor some of the rotor are bolted down and have a tendency to move out of its place ... Honda Accord

I am trying to install a control module in my 1987 Honda Accord LXi (4cyl) and I am having trouble. The store (autozone) where I got it said its just a matter of taking off the distributor cap (where the spark plug wires connect) and it would be located there.
