Answers :

All these components operate via the central locking control unit. Check fuses No.4, 37, 6, 3, 14. If these fuses are ok, the control unit may be faulty and need to be replaced. The control unit is located behind the right dash panel.[on right hand drive vehicle , may be else where on left hand drive vehicle.
Matthew Mullins, you are the best! My taillight blew out and I replaced it. I must have accidently blew a fuse and my windows wouldn't work, the doors and trunk wouldn't lock manually or through key fob. I searched through a number of the fuses through the map provided and some on the blogs and they all seemed fine. Got frustrated until I saw your solution. It turned out to be fuse No. 14 after searching the others. I have a 2004 VW gti vr6. Fuse panel/box is on left side. Replaced No. 14 which was clearly blown and everything hummed up again. Thanks!!!!!!
