2004 toyota highlander -

\015 I purchased a 2004 highlander without 3rd row seat (V6), i have checked with my dealer, they will not add 3rd row seat for us. Any one have done adding 3rd row seat ? can it be done ?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-06-2017

Answers :

Most dealers will not perform this service, as they become the "final stage manufacturer", and what that means is THEY would be responsible for any claims (liability) that may arise from an accident. Toyota does NOT recommend adding seats, nor do they recommend changing seat types (buckets vs bench). Note that the vehicle is designed with the specific seating positions in mind. To add a 3rd row seat, you would also have to install the proper seatbelts, and secure the 3rd row seats in a fashion that meets NHTSA specifications.
\015\012In short, and I apologize for this, please refrain from doing it.
