Having problems with your 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe ?

Stopped after whining noise. Approx 100,000 miles. Will this require a certified tech., or can this easily be repaired in the driveway?

Answers :

I have a 2004 Santa Fe. At 105,000 the same thing happened to me and it sounds like the timing belt. If you were driving on the highway 65 mph or better chances are your engine could be damaged beyond repair, When it happened to me I was fortunate enough to have the belt replaced. It broke again at 185,000 on the highway and I had to have the engine replaced.
Sounds like the timing belt has left the game.
