Having problems with your 2004 Ford F150 ?

My 2004 f 150 Lairat 2x4 has developed heavy steering and the steering wheel dosen't return completely and is also heavy and sluggish. The fluid level is normal and I had my mechanis do a quick tierod and ball joint inspection. The ball joints looked fine and the outer tierods need replaced the rt one is worse the the drivers side. Would a tierod end cause this symptom or is it more likley the pump or fluid problem? Huw much should a repair like this cost? Thanks Mike

Answers :

It's not usually the case when the tierod ends go on such a young vehicle. It is most likely the power steering pump. The cost is usually under $1000
